Porcelain Pot Witch

  • Remember when baking your pot, DO NOT pre-heat the oven. The difference in temperature may cause your flower pot to crack. Instead, put your object in a cold oven, then turn the oven on.
  • Step 1Cut 6 lengths of jute twine to make your witch’s broom. Fold over a skewer and secure with twine.
  • Take a look at our Glass & Porcelain Marker Tips for more information.
  • Step 2Remove the skewer and attach to the top with a hot glue gun.
  • Step 3Poke a skewer into a decofoam ball. This will allow you to hold it securely while painting. Paint your decofoam ball with green paint. This will be your witch’s head.
  • Step 4Cut a base and hat from black foam.
  • Step 5Secure with a hot glue gun.
  • Step 6Clean your pot with soapy water and dry well.
  • Step 7Colour in your flower pot with a Black CleverPatch Glass and Porcelain Marker. This will be the body of your witch.
  • Step 8Allow your design to dry for a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Step 9Once dry, place your pot in a cold household oven. Once the temperature has reached 160°C, bake your flower pot for 90 minutes to heat set your design.
  • Step 10Cut out two feet from glitter foam. Flip your pot over so that the lip of your pot is now the base. Attach the feet to your pot with a hot glue gun.
  • Step 11Plait red wool to create the hair of your witch.
  • Step 12Attach wiggle eyes to the face of your witch with a hot glue gun. Attach a pom pom nose, hat and red plait.
  • Step 13Attach the decofoam ball to the top of your pot with a hot glue gun. Attach your broom to the side of your pot.
